Ezra…new life

Amy and I were expecting our second child (as you may notice by the set of pregnancy photos) and Ezra was born on May 30th. We wanted photos that were simple and clean and would integrate well into baby announcements. I am finding out that I favor two types of shots, those that are really smple and clean, and then a grungy style as well…It’s always interesting to look back and see the shots from the past year…

It’s been a little busy around here and with the snow approaching, we though we would try to squeeze in some family photos before the weather turns…We have known Zach and Kendra for a few years and glad to call them friends…their kids are great and a lot of fun and pretty much up for anything…It was a great way to spend a slightly chilly Wednesday afternoon with some great friends…

I love fall days…If nothing else, I love that there are leaves on the ground that add texture that you only get for a few weeks a year…Chadron State Park is a great place to take photos and the colors of fall were definitely starting to pop out while we were there…
I have known Jeff & Jennifer for a little while now and have known Jeff’s parents for a long time and can honestly say that when it comes to great people, they are all phenomenal…I was glad to be a part of their Saturday afternoon and it’s always a good feeling to be around great people…
Gracie

I will add a disclaimer right away that I cannot take complete credit for these photos…the crayon idea was all Gracie’s dad and we were both pretty happy with the way everything worked out…Kevin and Jamie are great parents and their kids are amazing as well…It’s always fun to be able to take photos for real friends and even better when you get to hang out afterwards…Gracie liked the water at the end too and the umbrella was a great addition…in case anyone was wondering, there were several boxes of crayons that had to get picked up afterwards….

I am finally back to posting again…life has been a little hectic, but now that things are calmed down and the photos are on their way to everyone, I am trying get the website updated a little more often…
Hazel is an adorable little girl and is only a few days younger than our own son…she was vibrant and full of energy as we followed her around the ranch and she explored her world…being able to spend a few hours with her reminded me of how much more fun it is to use the backgrounds that are there to see what you can come up with…it also doesn’t hurt that the outbuildings had the perfect colors and textures to make her pictures pop…..

I have known Kevin and Jamie for a long time…(Kevin was the best man at my wedding)…and it is amazing to watch them as parents to see how much they truly love each other and their family…It’s always good to visit with friends and be able to photograph moments like these for them…
